This year sees the centenary of the erection of the Recreation Ground Memorial Gates. The condition of the Grade II listed memorial gates has been of concern for some time, and they are now in a very poor state of repair with all inscriptions and names being obscured or fading. The gates require a complete restoration to bring them back to their former glory and to do this during their centurion year would be a poignant act.
