The memorial is very discoloured at the bottom so that the lowest names - Crouch, Gye, Rose and Wright - are impossible to make out. The left side of the front name panel seems to be crumbling and is losing leaded letters from the 'B' section. While still at St Lawrence's Church - see 2008 photo on BHS Project link - the names were all complete. By the time of the rededication at Brentford Library - see 2009 photo on BHS Project link - Brockwell and Bradbury had lost their initial letters. By 2015, 8 names were missing initial letters and 1 more was missing 2 letters. As of 2022, 8 names are missing the initial letter, and a further 3 names are missing 2 letters.
