Comments:
WMT has reviewed the recent condition report and agrees with the assessment. It is borderline Good/Fair. Some discolouration is noted on the cenotaph, however this does not appear to be stopping the names from beind read. As the memorial was cleaned and selective lettering was sharpened during the previously grant funded project, monitoring is suggested. This is because over-cleaning can cause damage to the memorial and reduce its overall lifespan. Montioring the sharpness of the letters on an annual basis will enable the custodian to see the rate of deterioration before deciding if/when to intervene.
