Comments:
The War Memorial has been completed restored thanks to the War Memorial Trust for their grant and fundraising from the Fillongley community. The sandstone plinth was eroded and damaged and was completely replaced and the inscriptions on the plinth cleaned ensuring increased legibility of the names of our fallen soldiers. The iron cross was cleaned and re coated and the original gold leaf detail re gilded. The cross was straightened for future stability and, it is hoped to rededicate the memorial in the near future.
