Subsequent to my visits in 2014 and 2018 it seems that some attempt has been made to improve the visibility of the names, but it has had only very limited success. They are still extremely difficult to read on all but one face. With the passage of 8 years and the centenary of WW1 having come and gone it is dissapointing that so little progress has been made. Whether this is due to lack of funds or lack of specialist expertise I don't know. There is also quite extensive lichen deposits. All in all this memorial gives the air of being unloved.
