Comments:
The bronze sculpture and plaques are generally in good structural condition, but the patina is failing due to a lack of properly maintained protective coatings. The green discoloration is copper chlorides forming on the surface. The sculpture appears to be completely free on any protective wax coating The pedestal has been recently steam cleaned, but corrosion products from the bronze, and the iron armature, and already discolouring the surface of the granite The granite pedestal is in good condition, with only losses the steps. These loses are thought to be from vehicles reversing from Barton Arcade. There is almost total loss to the original lime pointing.
