Comments:
The Lychgate / War Memorial is being restored following a car accident in June 2021. A car was driven into the lychgate, knocking it over. Damage was done to the lychgate structure, but not to the actual memorial panels or inscriptions. The lychgate was on its side for several months while the insurers and their appointed surveyors made plans and Diocesan permission was sought. In March 2022 the lychgate was removed by the appointed contractors. It is due to be returned in late July 2022.
