The main issue is the large area of loss at the anchor. The left arm and fluke of the anchor are lost, and a ferrous fixing (the remains of a previous repair) is protruding from the anchor’s crown. This corroding fixing is jacking the adjacent marble resulting in several diverging fine cracks. In addition, there is ferrous staining in the marble below due to water run-off from the corroding fixing.
