Comments:
WMT agrees with the recent Fair condition report and suggests monitoring legibility of the inscriptions. Due to its roadside location, carbon deposits will be an ongoing issue and cleaning them will need to be carefully timed so that the memorial is not damaged through over-cleaning. It is important to manage expectations around the appearance of memorials in such locations and recognise that too frequent cleaning can cause damage and reduce the lifespan of the war memorial. For further information see chapter 12 of https://historicengland.org.uk/images-books/publications/conservation-repair-management-war-memorials/
