Thanks to support from the Centenary Memorials Restoration Fund for assistance with conserving the tablet and re-erecting it in Gatehouse of Fleet Parish Church the tablet was very well restored by the Scottish Conservation Studio. Local carpenter Stanley Grieve made a backing board, fixed the plaque to the boardand used an oak bead to hold it in place. the memorail was rededicated on 13 November 2016
