Comments:
Viewed 30 November 2018- The Cross has a very visible lean backwards. On inspection the anchor bolts of the cross to the top of the plinth are straining, and there is a substantial gap. As the cross is pressing backwards there is evidence of pressure cracking at the same joint on the 12 o'clock face. My opinion is that this is at significant risk of failure, through time, I a winter storm, or by someone on a drunken night out having the urge to push it over. Failure could lead to personal injury if you were standing downhill at the time. I was on a day trip to Durham, am not from the area, this was seen by chance while passing.
