Comments:
The inscriptions vary in condition. The raised lettering around the first tier of the plinth is in good condition, and the names of the WW1 dead in the main inscription are legible, though both are lichenous. The WW2 tablet is illegible. The inscription at the foot of the cross is losing the tops of the letters. There are several old repairs in the steps of the base which have further eroded and need attention; and several cracks and eroded pits which have not been tackled before. An occlusion in the shaft has created a pit which may need attention. Moss has obscured part of the head of the cross.
