Comments:
The war memorial was cleaned and names repainted in October 2018 ready for 11 November 2018 commemorations, when the war memorial was re-dedicated by the vicar of St Cassians Church, following a memorial service in the church attended by over 300 people. After reading the names the public were able to see a fly past of a replica World War 1 Bi-Plane. The service concluded a week of events in the parish which included tea and entertainment and a parade at the local schools, a film show featuring Journey's End, a Silver Brass Band concert, and a Boys on the Board trail so that visitors could see where service men in the First World War lived.
