Comments:
As previously reported, the War Memorial has been a cause of concern having adopted a slight lean. A grant application for a conservational structural surveyor has allowed a comprehensive survey to be carried out and a detailed schedule of works to right the fault established and costed. What is quite clear is that the memorial poses no Health and Safety issues at present and its condition remains under observation. However,even with grant acceptance from the WMT ( if approved) , there would be a significant shortfall on the necessary funds required to correct the klewan without further fund raising. That is something that is now being investigated and we await results.
