Comments:
The memorial comprises an avenue of chestnut trees leading to a slate memorial inscribed with the 56 names of the Desford School old boys who died in the first world war. The stone is backed by 3 oak trees. The stone is clean but weathered with the passage of time, worst towards the bottom of the slab but all the names are still legible. The area is well maintained. The trees all have preservation orders on them and require maintenance in the coming year. Any trees removed because of desease will be replaced.
