I do not usually use the 'Very Bad' condition, but don't seem to have a choice here- sorry. I had hoped for better news. The Calvary Head is indeed detached from the cross, and is in at least 2 parts buried in the grass- so far away that this could not have been an accidental event. The base of the cross has substantial algal growth- the inscription face is pretty eroded, combined with the growth it is not at all easy to read. The growth is even more marked on the base and on the three 'blank' sides of the die
