Comments:
The Society closed in 1990, and the memorial has not been traced since. The newspaper report attached to the report for the original WW1 report (WMO191197) suggests it went to a warehouse in Carrickfergus (see the comments on that report for the veracity or otherwise of that claim) where it cannot now be traced. However many of the other fixtures from the ballroom in the Orpheus Building (known colloquially as "The Ballroom of Romance" went to the Harp Bar in Hill Street, Belfast. When the bar was redeveloped into the current building other of those artefacts were sold at Auction, and the plaque is not there now. The Orpheus building was demolished in 2015. But the story is not as simple as newspaper reportage suggests.
