The gates were restored c 2001 by James Brothers Blacksmiths of Boughton near Kettering. David James, conservation Blacksmith, writes The gates are wrought Iron and the piers cast iron , the memorial plaques are bronze. They have all the hallmarks of Victorian work with a lot of fixings between elements being done with ball bolts and nuts, so perhaps not contemporary with the original hall. There is some very accomplished forging in the decorative elements. One decorative screw knob is lost
