Comments:
The structure is sound and the stone colour as it has weathered looks attractive. The issue is the names. The original WW1 inscriptions and names vary from illegible to just about legible and the WW2 additonal tablet at the front is going the same way. The new WW1 name tablets are now legible, having obviously been cleaned since the previous set of photos. The addition of these tablets goes against WMT practice, but I suspect that if the leaders of the team of parish churches were approached they would argue that they have made the names readable so what is the problem? As far back as 2009 I was told by WMT Conservation that no action was desirable. If this is still the view, WMT Conservation should upgrade this Condision Update to Fair, with an appropriate explanation.
