Comments:
All stonework is intact. Re-pointing was carried out in 2001. There is no significant weathering of the inscriptions. There is significant staining on parts of the memorial which slightly reduces the visibility of the inscriptions on one part of the memorial. This staining is due to growth of lichen. In 2001 and 2006 the memorial was cleaned professionally using the technique recommended by English Heritage, as more vigorous cleaning could lead to long term damage
