Comments:
I would politely describe the condition now as fair. The memorial has a reasonable amount of dirt affecting the inscribed plinth & base faces. Ironically, the dirt seems to be enhancing the WW1 names' legibility by providing some background contrast. However, although the WW1 dedication on the main shaft is relatively clean, the raised lettering has worn sufficiently to decrease its definition, hence legibility.
