The memorial was subject to a formal condition survey by the local authority's heritage team in 2013/14 and was assessed as 'fair' (on the basis that the monument was stable and maintained intermittently, but with issues of patchy vegetation growth, areas of mortar loss, run-off staining of stonework from bronzes and surface dirt). The condition rating of the memorial has remained unchanged since this time, although further maintenance (cleaning, vegetation removal and re-mortaring) is now required.
